- INTEGRATIVE WELLNESS -

Hello my name is Dr. Appy
Born and raised in Texas, I'm a military wife and proud mother of three lively boys. When I'm not juggling the delightful chaos of family life, I can be found savoring a spine chilling horror novel or indulging in a marathon of eerie films, because really, one must keep life a bit thrilling, wouldn't you agree?
A Space to Reconnect With Yourself
You Might Be Here Because...
Something in your life has begun asking for your attention in a way that can no longer be ignored.
Perhaps your mind feels overwhelmed, your relationships feel strained, or your body carries tension before you can explain why. You may find yourself moving through each day doing what needs to be done while quietly feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of where to place everything you've been carrying.
Therapy offers a space to slow down, listen inward, and begin understanding what your mind, body, and heart have been trying to communicate.
Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to navigate it alone.
A Safe Place for Healing
Many of the patterns we struggle with today once served a purpose.
The ways we protect ourselves are often shaped by past experiences, family roles, grief, trauma, cultural expectations, relationships, and life circumstances that asked more from us than we knew how to give.
What you are experiencing may be your nervous system trying to keep you safe, your emotions asking to be acknowledged, or a part of you longing for a different way forward.
You do not need to have everything figured out before seeking support. Therapy can provide a space where you feel seen, understood, and supported as you make sense of your experiences and begin creating meaningful change.
Who I Help
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families who are seeking greater self-understanding, healthier relationships, and emotional well-being.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in familiar patterns they can recognize but have difficulty changing. Others are navigating anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, family conflict, parenting stress, identity concerns, life transitions, or the emotional exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long.
My work often focuses on:
-
Emotional regulation
-
Anxiety and stress management
-
Self-worth and self-compassion
-
Relationship and attachment concerns
-
Trauma recovery
-
Family dynamics
-
Parenting challenges
-
Communication skills
-
Life transitions and personal growth
I am especially passionate about helping individuals who have spent years surviving, performing, caretaking, achieving, or keeping the peace and are now ready to explore what it means to feel supported, connected, and fully themselves.
What It's Like to Work With Me
My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and grounded.
In our sessions, you can expect honesty, curiosity, thoughtful reflection, and, when appropriate, humor. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to be authentic and supported enough to grow.
Together, we will explore not only what is happening in your life, but also the patterns, beliefs, experiences, and protective strategies that may be influencing how you relate to yourself and others.
I believe therapy should be both supportive and transformative—a space where truth can emerge, insight can develop, and lasting change can take root.
Clients often describe me as warm, direct, reflective, validating, and easy to talk to.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is holistic, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and deeply collaborative.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, psychodynamic principles, and systems-informed approaches to help clients better understand themselves and their experiences.
I believe healing involves the whole person—the mind that makes meaning of experiences, the body that carries stress and emotion, the relationships that shape us, and the values that guide us.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I view each client as a unique individual whose story has been shaped by family, culture, identity, relationships, strengths, challenges, losses, and lived experiences.
Therapy is not about becoming someone different. It is about developing greater awareness, compassion, resilience, and choice so that you can live in alignment with the life you want to create.
Together, we can explore what you've carried, what you've outgrown, what still needs healing, and what is possible moving forward.
Commitment to Professional Growth
Providing meaningful and effective care requires ongoing learning.
I regularly pursue advanced training in trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practice, child and adolescent mental health, couples and relationship therapy, family systems, emotional regulation, and whole-person wellness.
My commitment is to provide care that is ethical, compassionate, evidence-informed, and tailored to the unique needs of every individual, couple, and family I serve.

Let's Begin
Healing begins with creating space for yourself.
If you're ready to better understand your experiences, reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been carrying too much, and move toward greater clarity, balance, and emotional well-being, I would be honored to support you.
You deserve a space where you feel seen, respected, supported, and empowered to grow.
